Information for all of your Drama, Singing, Music, Acrobatics, Gymnastics and Dance classes at the Studio Springfield

“I wanted to thank all of you for such a warm welcome as a new family to The Studio this year. Everything is well organised, staff are friendly and the classes are fantastic. My daughter loves her teacher and spends all week talking about her. The junior classes are so well structured and a perfect balance of fun and dance for young children.”  J.Gossner via email Feb.2015

Tiny Tots Program

The Tiny Tots Program accepts students from 2 years of age and progresses them through to Prep. A one-hour show designed to give our youngest performers a love of the stage without too much investment from their families.

Junior Studio Program

The Junior Studio accepts students from Grade One to Grade Three (School Grade 3). Classes are grouped together to make it easier for parents. You also have the choice with Dance lessons of weekday or Saturday mornings. Make-up classes are available within the same term  if you  let Reception know.

Intermediate Studio Program

The Studio’s Intermediate School commences with students from School Grade 4 through to High School.  Students studying Ballet at this stage are now required to attend two lessons per week to increase their muscle memory in order to have them strong enough for Pointe Work at age 12-13. Pointe is added for Ballet students who have reached the IADMS benchmarks in Gold Medal Ballet.

Intermediate students have a wider range of classes to choose from including Contemporary Dance, Drama, Tap Lessons, Drama Classes, Acrobatics, Clowning, Musical Theatre, Singing classes, Piano lessons as well as Aerial Lyra Lessons.

Is your teenager NEW TO BALLET? Don’t panic the professional teachers at The Studio will integrate them into ballet class, getting them proficient in the vocabulary and movement that is required. Teenagers that are new to ballet join The Studio at the Silver Star level, this ensures they learn the basic skills required.

Students studying Classical Ballet lessons develop self-discipline, co-ordination, poise, confidence and a greater awareness of body control, than any other form of Performing Art. The Studio offers A.T.O.D. Classical Ballet. This syllabus may lead students to a lifelong journey in Dance; whether it be as a classical, contemporary or commercial dancer, a Primary or High school teacher or as a complement to another field such as physiotherapy, psychology, occupational therapy or an administrator of a dance company or dance school.

Senior Studio Program

The Studio’s Senior Studio is based on levels only. New students will need to be assessed by our Senior teachers before they can join these classes.  Students from Elementary Ballet or Jazz or Level 10 Hip Hop and above through to Advanced are classed as Senior students. These levels are the base requirement to apply for ATOD teachers examinations. Senior students are able to consider involvement in The Studio Senior Mentoring program to assist with scholarship applications, auditions after high school and focusing on individual outcomes.
